Global Village Academy is very excited to announce the GVA Pathways Awards Program which recognizes students who have achieved biliteracy along with a Middle School Service and Participation Award.

The goal of our GVA Pathways Awards Program is to encourage students to continue their bilingual education and earn the Seal of Biliteracy on their high school diploma.

Colorado Seal of Biliteracy
In March of 2017, Colorado passed the Seal of Biliteracy bill. This bill authorizes a school district to grant a diploma endorsement in biliteracy to a student who demonstrates proficiency in English and at least one foreign language.

An endorsed high school diploma encourages students to pursue biliteracy skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions office. The Seal of Biliteracy is granted to a graduating high school student who attains proficiency or higher in one or more world languages in addition to attaining proficiency or higher in English.

Below is a list of schools and districts that offer the Seal of Biliteracy. To learn more about the Seal of Biliteracy and its requirements in high school, please click here.
The goal of our GVA Pathways Award Program is for our students to find success being immersed in their target language academically and beyond their classrooms.

It is important for students to be able to communicate and interact with cultural competence in order to participate in multilingual communities at home and around the world. Therefore, learners need to use the language both within and beyond the classroom to interact and collaborate in their community and the globalized world.

Our awards program encourages our students to apply their language and cultural competence and understand the value of their own skills while contributing to the community.
