Dear GVA Families,
Wow, what a year it has been at GVA North! These past few weeks have been filled with celebrations, accomplishments, and a whole lot of PUMA Pride. As we close out the 2024–2025 school year, I wanted to share a few final updates and heartfelt thank-yous.
Report Cards
Final report cards will be sent home with students on the last day of school, Thursday, May 22nd. Please take some time to review them with your child, celebrate their growth, and reflect on all they’ve accomplished this year.
Fun Run Celebration
Last Thursday, students had a blast celebrating the success of this year’s Fun Run. As you know, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $35,000, so students got the chance to “Pie the Guys” and they took full advantage! Huge thanks to Mr. Eric, Officer Eric, and Mr. Ben for being such great sports, and to the PTO for organizing such a fun and memorable event.
GVA North Takes Home the Gold!
We are thrilled to announce that Calvin Hodges won First Prize in the Secondary Level of the 2025 Regional Chinese Bridge Competition in Los Angeles, this past Saturday! This event brought together the top Mandarin learners from five states, and Calvin’s win is an incredible honor. Congratulations once again to Calvin and the entire team behind this outstanding success!
K–5th Field Day
Our K-5th Grade Field Day will be on Wednesday, May 21st. Students are encouraged to wear athletic gear and sunscreen. If you are planning to attend Field Day, please make sure to check in at the “Check-In” table located at the top of the hill near the soccer field. You do not need to check in at the front desk for this event. However, if you need to go inside (for the restroom, etc.), you will need to enter through the front entrance and check in.
Parking will be available along the back loop road (Yellow Zone) as well as the main lot. Please drive very slowly, as students will be outside for recess. After your child's specific Field Day time, we kindly ask families to leave to free up parking for the next group of parents
K-5 Field Day Schedule:
- 1st grade: 8:15 AM
- 2nd grade: 9:15 AM
- 4th grade: 10:15 AM
- 5th grade: 11:15 AM
- Kindergarten: 12:15 PM
- 3rd grade: 1:15 PM
A Fond Farewell to Ms. Franklin
It is with mixed emotions that we announce Middle School Assistant Principal, Kady Franklin will not be returning for the 2025–2026 school year. After 10 years of incredible service to GVA North, Ms. Franklin has made the difficult decision to leave GVA North so she can focus on her young family. Her presence, wisdom, and compassion have shaped our community in countless ways. We will miss her dearly, and we thank her for everything she has done to support our students, staff, and families. Ms. Franklin, you will always be a cherished member of our Puma family.
Last Day of School
Our last day of school is Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 and it will be an Early Release Day with the students leaving at 12pm.
As we wrap up the school year, I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued partnership and support. This community is truly something special. As we head into summer break and some people head onto new adventures, I wish everyone a joyful, safe, and fun summer filled with memories! To those returning next year, we are already looking forward to seeing you back on campus, refreshed and ready for another incredible year of learning and growth. Enjoy the break, you all have earned it!

¡Vaya año que hemos tenido en GVA North! Estas últimas semanas han estado llenas de celebraciones, logros y mucho Orgullo PUMA. Al cerrar el año escolar 2024–2025, quiero compartir con ustedes algunas actualizaciones finales y unos agradecimientos muy sinceros.
Boletas de Calificaciones
Las boletas de calificaciones finales serán enviadas a casa con los estudiantes el último día de clases, el jueves 22 de mayo. Por favor, tómense un momento para revisarlas con sus hijos, celebrar su crecimiento y reflexionar sobre todo lo que han logrado este año.
Celebración de la Carrera Divertida (Fun Run)
El pasado jueves, los estudiantes se divirtieron muchísimo celebrando el éxito de nuestra Carrera Divertida de este año. Como saben, superamos nuestra meta de recaudación de $35,000, ¡así que los estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de “arrojar pasteles a los chicos” y lo aprovecharon al máximo! Muchas gracias al Sr. Eric, el Oficial Eric y el Sr. Ben por ser tan buenos deportistas, y al PTO por organizar un evento tan divertido e inolvidable.
¡GVA North se lleva el oro!
¡Estamos encantados de anunciar que Calvin Hodges ganó el Primer Premio en el Nivel Secundario de la Competencia Regional de Chinese Bridge 2025 en Los Ángeles, este pasado sábado! Este evento reunió a los mejores estudiantes de mandarín de cinco estados, y la victoria de Calvin es un honor increíble. ¡Felicitaciones nuevamente a Calvin y a todo el equipo detrás de este gran logro!
Día de Campo para K–5° grado
Nuestro Día de Campo para los grados K–5 será el miércoles 21 de mayo. Se anima a los estudiantes a usar ropa deportiva y protector solar. Si planea asistir al Día de Campo, asegúrese de registrarse en la mesa de registro ubicada en la cima de la colina cerca del campo de fútbol. No es necesario registrarse en la recepción principal para este evento. Sin embargo, si necesita entrar al edificio (para ir al baño, etc.), deberá ingresar por la entrada principal y registrarse.
El estacionamiento estará disponible en la carretera del circuito trasero (Zona Amarilla) así como en el estacionamiento principal. Por favor, conduzca muy despacio, ya que los estudiantes estarán afuera en recreo. Después del horario específico del Día de Campo de su hijo, les pedimos amablemente a las familias que se retiren para dejar espacio a los padres del siguiente grupo.

Una Despedida Cariñosa para la Sra. Franklin
Con emociones encontradas anunciamos que la Subdirectora de la Escuela Secundaria, Kady Franklin, no regresará para el año escolar 2025–2026. Después de 10 años de increíble servicio en GVA North, la Sra. Franklin ha tomado la difícil decisión de dejar GVA North para enfocarse en su joven familia. Su presencia, sabiduría y compasión han dado forma a nuestra comunidad de innumerables maneras. La extrañaremos profundamente y le agradecemos por todo lo que ha hecho para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias. Sra. Franklin, siempre será una miembro querida de nuestra familia Puma.
Último Día de Clases
Nuestro último día de clases es el jueves 22 de mayo de 2025 y será un día de salida temprana los estudiantes saldrán a las 12:00 pm.
Al concluir el año escolar, quiero agradecer a cada uno de ustedes por su continuo apoyo y colaboración. Esta comunidad es verdaderamente algo especial. Al comenzar las vacaciones de verano y mientras algunos emprenden nuevas aventuras, les deseo a todos un verano alegre, seguro y divertido, ¡lleno de recuerdos! Para aquellos que regresan el próximo año, ya estamos ansiosos por verlos de nuevo en el campus, renovados y listos para otro año increíble de aprendizaje y crecimiento. ¡Disfruten el descanso, se lo han ganado!
