Instructions for MORNING Drop Off -GREEN ZONE - Front of School

The front of the school will continue to have the most supervision and assistance, so GVA recommends that K-2nd grade students continue to be dropped off in front (same as pick up) with their older siblings. If one line becomes backed up, you may choose to use the other for drop-off at your discretion.
When approaching the school grounds from 120th Ave, you must first pass by the exit only (directly in front of the school) and turn left on Grant Drive to reach the vehicle entrance. This is on the far north side of the property.
- Please be aware of large trucks leaving neighboring businesses when on Grant Drive. These trucks depart for the day during our morning arrival time, so please be considerate and do not block their exits or entrances. These are big trucks and cannot stop quickly. Proceed with caution.
- Once you turn onto the school property, use the far left lane to drop students off in front of the school building. *Please be aware that using the right lane will force cars into the back of the school building and the Yellow Zone.
- Once you have passed the area where the lanes split, parents will follow the cones to merge into the right lane.
- Parents can drop students off anywhere along the sidewalk/fire lane if they have pulled all the way forward and are in front of the school building.
- Do not stop in the left lane; you will be blocking the traffic flow.
- Please watch for pedestrians in crosswalks.
- Please pull ALL THE WAY forward before stopping to let students out; do not leave gaps.
- Please move forward as the line moves.
- A staff member/volunteer will help children out of cars. However, students who can get out on their own are encouraged to do so.
- Students should be ready to exit by the time you reach the drop-off zone
- Parents/Guardians: do not get out of your cars when in the line
- Once you have dropped off your student(s), proceed to the exit. Be prepared to use the left lane again and merge with traffic. You will exit the school lot using the left lane. However, there is NO LEFT TURN out of the exit during drop off and pick up. Plan to turn right to exit the property.
- Do not park in any parking lots adjacent to the school, as you will be towed.
Instructions for MORNING Drop Off- Yellow Zone - Back of School

The loop road around the back of the school should be utilized for parents of 3rd-8th grade students. The front of the school is recommended for younger students (K-2nd) who may require more adult supervision. However, if one line becomes backed up, you may use the other for drop-off at your discretion.
- When approaching the school grounds from 120th Ave, you must pass by the exit only (directly in front of the school) and turn left on Grant Drive to reach the vehicle entrance. This is on the far north side of the property.
- When driving on Grant Drive, please be aware of large trucks leaving neighboring businesses. These trucks depart for the day during our morning arrival time, so please be considerate and do not block their exits or entrances. These are big trucks and cannot stop quickly. Proceed with caution.
- Once you turn onto the school property, you can use the far right lane to drop students off behind the school using the new loop road. *Please be aware that using the left lane will force cars into the front of the school building and the Green Zone.
- Once you have passed the area where the lanes split, parents will follow the cones to merge into the left lane.
- Parents can drop students off anywhere along the sidewalk on the left side closest to the school building. Please make sure to pull all the way forward until you come to a stop.
- Please move forward as the line moves.
- Do not stop in the right lane; you will block traffic flow.
- Once you have dropped off your student(s), proceed to the exit. Cars will merge with the K-2nd morning drop-off lane traffic after the stop sign. It is crucial that you stop at the stop sign and carefully merge into the K-2nd morning traffic, watching for cars. You will exit the school lot using the right lane ONLY. There will be NO LEFT TURN out of the exit during drop off and pick up. Plan to turn right to exit the property.
- Do not park in any parking lots adjacent to the school, as you will be towed.
- After 8:00 AM, all exterior doors other than the front doors will be closed for student entrance. The back road will close, and all students must be dropped off at the front entrance.
Village Square
*Students will enter Village Square through the front doors, so parents should park in the main parking lot and walk in with their students to sign them in. All students going to Village Square must have an enrollment form filled out with emergency contact information. At 7:45 AM students will walk from Village Square to their classroom unless they are eating breakfast..
Afternoon Dismissal
GVA uses a QR code system that allows your child to remain in their classroom until a GVA-N staff member scans the family QR code. Once scanned, your child is alerted in the classroom and dismissed to their designated pickup spot. Parents should save this QR code on their phones and send it to anyone picking up their student. Additionally, GVA requests that parents tape it to the inside of their front car window for easy scanning. Please do not try to scan this code yourself; it will not work. If you have any concerns regarding your QR code, please contact the front desk.
Procedures for AFTERNOON Pick-Up for K-2nd and Older Siblings (Green Zone)
- Remember, the school officially dismisses at 3:15 PM.
- For the quickest and least painful pick-up experience, arrive no earlier than 3 PM for pick-up.
- Always enter through the north side of the property
- When you pull in, staff will scan your QR code. Please ensure you use the far left lane only (Green Zone). You will only use the left lane until after the road splits.
- After a staff member scans your QR code, your student(s)’ name(s) will appear on their classroom smartboard. This will let students know to leave the classroom and walk to their designated pick-up zone in front of the building.
- Continue to use the far left lane until the road splits. After the road splits, cars should follow the cones and move to the right lane for student pick-up.
- Designated waiting zones are on the sidewalk in front of the school. Students will load into cars on the passenger side of vehicles.
- The zones are then in decreasing grade order, with kindergarten students at the top spot closest to the exit. However, cars do not need to stop at a designated spot. PLEASE continue to pull forward with the flow of traffic.
- Older siblings and carpool riders should always stand/wait with the youngest student in the group.
- If you do not see your child in their designated pick-up area, continue to pull forward. All K-2 and older students will exit the school through the main entrance, so they will walk past all the cars waiting in line, looking for their rides.
- You do not need to wait in your child’s specific designated area; please continue pulling forward when possible.
- Stay in the right lane unless passing or exiting.
- Please be careful and aware of all crosswalks. The speed limit is 10 MPH.

Early Student Pick-Up
At GVA North, we understand that occasionally, students may need to be picked up early for appointments, planned vacations, emergencies, etc. If you need to pick up your student early from school, please plan on entering the school from the main entrance at the bottom of Grant Drive using the Left Lane (Green Zone) only. You may pull into our parking lot and sign your child out at the front desk. Please be aware that we may have parents queued up for student dismissal after 2:15 PM (GVA North recommends parents do not arrive for student dismissal earlier than 3:20 PM). Our parking lot may be blocked due to this. Please park on Grant Drive and walk up to the front entrance to sign your child out of school. Please note: GVA North does not allow early student pickups after 2:45 PM.
