GVA-N collects Family Interest Form submissions year-round. Students are admitted on a first-come-first-served basis, except siblings and children of employees, who are given preference.

Starting in November, current GVA-N families are invited to begin the registration process for any new siblings who plan to enroll in kindergarten for the following school year. This is the only priority window given to current families for registration. Families that wait to register siblings until after registration has been opened to the general public risk losing their spot if classes fill up.

Starting in January, the registration process begins for families new to GVA. Families that have filled out the “Family Interest Form” are contacted in the order in which their information was received to invite them to begin the registration process. Once the registration link has been sent, families have at least 7 business days to “accept” their spot by completing the registration forms. If, after 7 business days, the family has not started filling out all registration information, the spot may be forfeited, and the child/children will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist. Once a student completes the online registration packet, the student is officially enrolled.

Students are accepted year-round as long as space is available. Once a grade level is full, students are on a waiting list until a spot becomes available.

Family Interest Forms do not reset yearly, so parents can submit their interest/intent several years in advance if desired.

Students enrolling at GVA North must take a language assessment before registering.
  • The language assessment is purely informational.
  • Though there is no specific language level requirement, it's helpful for families to understand where their child's skills stand compared to those of future classmates.
Siblings
  • Kindergarten-aged siblings of currently enrolled students, including children whose primary guardian(s) are also the primary guardian(s) of children already enrolled in the program (e.g., step-siblings).
Children of Employees
  • Children of School Employees, which includes children of staff or faculty members who work at least half-time, have full or joint custody of the child and started work on or before the first day of school of the year in which they are applying.
