About John Hawthorne

John Hawthorne is a retired sociology professor living in Henderson. After earning his Ph.D. from Purdue University, he spent nearly forty years as a faculty member and administrator in private, faith-based universities. After retiring in May 2020, he and his wife moved to Colorado to be near family in 2021.  

 

His granddaughter attends GVA North, and his other granddaughter will attend in a few years. He enjoys walking his two dogs, writing a SubStack newsletter, and has a book on Christian universities that comes out in February 2025. He is an inveterate political junkie.
