CMAS Performance

What is CMAS?

The Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) is a statewide series of tests that measure Colorado students' academic progress in English language arts, math, and science. Students take the CMAS test once a year, in April. Starting in 2026, CMAS will be offered only via electronic format.

CMAS 2024 ELA Performance

  • 3rd Grade - 37.3% of students met/exceeded expectations, outperforming the district (35.4%) and nearly matching the state (42%),  GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 728 compared to the district (730) and the state (737).

  • 4th Grade - 47.1% of students met/exceeded expectations, surpassing state (42%) and district (36.3%), GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 745, outperforming the district (736) and the state (741).

  • 5th Grade - 55.3% of students met/exceeded expectations, surpassing state (48%) and the district (41.7%). GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 754, outperforming the district (741) and the state (746)

  • 6th Grade - 60.9% of students met/exceeded expectations, exceeding state (44.2%) and district (38.7%) GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 758, outperforming the district (739) and the state (743)

  • 7th Grade - 66.2% of students met/exceeded expectations, outperforming the state average (48.8%) and the district (45.6%),  GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 766, outperforming the district (744) and the state (747).

  • 8th Grade- 57.7% of students met/exceeded expectations, surpassing the state (43.9%) and district (40.3%),  GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 756 outperforming the district (738) and the state (741).

CMAS 2024 Math Performance

  • 3rd Grade - GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 733 outperforming the district (732) and nearly matching the state (739);  30.8% of students met/exceeded expectations, district (32.6%) and the state (41.2%). 

  • 4th Grade - GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 737outperforming the state (736) and the district (731). 32.2% of students met/exceeded expectations, surpassing the district (28.8%) and coming close to the state (36.5%).

  • 5th Grade - 34.2% of students met/exceeded expectations, surpassing district (30.5%) and getting closer to the state results (39.1%). GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 741, outperforming the district (732) and the state (739).

  • 6th Grade - 22.2% of students met/exceeded expectations, compared to the district (26.1%) and the state (31.4%), GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 73,2, outperforming the district (728) and the same as the state (732).

  • 7th Grade - 33.8% of students met/exceeded expectations, outperforming the state (31.8%) and the district (25.3%), GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was  73,8, outperforming the district (732) and the state (735).

  • 8th Grade - 32.7% of students met/exceeded expectations, compared to the state (34.7%) and the district (28.1%), GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 73,6, outperforming the district (728) and the state (734).

CMAS 2024 Science Performance

Only students in the 5th and 8th grades take the Science CMAS test.

  • 8th Grade - 38.3% of students met/exceeded expectations, outperforming the state (36.4%) and the district (33.4%), GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was 741, outperforming the district (734) and the state (734).

  • 5th Grade - 43.8% of students met/exceeded expectations in 2025, outperforming the state (39%) and the district (30.3%), GVA North’s Mean Scale Score Average was  737 Scale Score Average, outperforming the district (731) and matching the state (737)
