Chinese and Spanish AP Test
The AP Spanish and Chinese Language and Culture Exams test students’ ability to apply communication and language skills developed in their studies to demonstrate their understanding of Spanish and Chinese-speaking cultures. This test is typically given to high school students but is offered as an optional choice for all 8th-grade students at GVA North and is administered in May each year.
- 56% of GVA North 8th graders who took the Spanish Advanced Placement Exam scored a 3 or higher on the 2024 exam.
- 75% of GVA North Chinese 8th graders who took the Chinese Advanced Placement Exam scored a 3 or higher on the 2024 exam.
According to the College Board, a score of 3 or higher strongly predicts a student’s ability to persist in college and earn a bachelor’s degree.
College Board (the company that administers the AP test) does not offer a Russian Language and Culture test at this time.
